Sunday Dec 20, 2020
On this episode of the podcast, we are joined by Rep. Madeleine Dean, the Congresswoman from Pennsylvania's 4th District, and her son Harry Cunnane. They both join us to discuss a personal story of addiction and recovery that hit close to home. Harry, after suffering from an opioid addiction and completing his pathway to recovery, now uses his experience to lift up others who are dealing with addiction in and around his community. Rep. Dean, alongside her son's recovery, has introduced and promoted legislation aimed at combating the opioid epidemic and ending the stigma around those suffering from drug and alcohol abuse. Together, they have co-authored two books which are linked to below.
1: "Under Our Roof: A Son's Battle for Recovery, a Mother's Battle for Her Son" - by Madeleine Dean and Harry Cunnane.
2: "You Are Always Loved: A Story of Hope" - by Madeleine Dean, Harry Cunnane, and Holly Clifton-Brown (Illustrator).
